Another Karen Black movie, it’s Eternal Evil, or The Blue Man. There’s a super-creepy film within the film, a documentary called “The Wandering Soul” that comes in at about 39:20
Still on a nostalgia trip. This video freaked me out once when I was stoned –it’s a perfect distillation of greedy consumerism wrapped up in psychedelic reality bending hip-hop. Busta pushes late nineties rap clichés to ~absurd~ extremes in this one.
After much discussion, the BrokeWorld editorial team has decided to endorse Bernie Sanders now that it won’t make any difference. Biden is a neoliberal corporate Wall Street democrat –we’ve had plenty of those over the years and they don’t do anything. HERE is a good analysis of Biden’s healthcare “plan.”
More Electro!
A Guy Called Gerald did a nice mix this week.

Until you’re ready to cut off part of a finger for worker’s comp money to make your film, you’re not a real filmmaker!
I like Tracey Snelling’s dioramas.
Here’s a fun YouTube wormhole, it’s three versions of Afro Blue by Mongo Santamaria. Staying inside with the internet is the socially responsible thing to do right now. Hope this page helps. #TheWorldIsBroke

I think I heard Illeana Douglas recommend this somewhere, but maybe I’m imagining that. Sometimes plots just get in the way, this movie proves that they aren’t really necessary.
Damien Riehl and Noah Rubin might be heroes in the war against overly restrictive copyright law. Check out what they did HERE. (they copyrighted every melody mathematically possible and put them all in public domain) It’ll be interesting to see if someone uses their action as a defense in court.
This tune is a delight.
Yetis are real.

Johnny Cash reminds of Pee Wee Herman in this for some reason.

This is a brain-melting electro mix.

I haven’t seen Color Out of Space yet, but this podcast was a fun listen. What Stanley was talking about reminded me of the quote that ‘a thing must be conceivable in order to be perceived at all.’ Not sure who said that. Kant? Burroughs?

The husband in this is one of the all-time great asshole husbands in cinema.
Mildly obsessed with this dance sequence.
Nicolas Winding Refn runs a really cool website. Also, Neon Demon was severely underrated IMO.

Do not seek comfort with 1990 Christopher Walken.
Mentioned it in my recent Long Shot review –this is an article about how congresswoman Katie Hill was railroaded by vile assholes.
Loving the old school boombap this week.
This jam has some good summer vibes.

How great is Tuesday Weld in this?
Electric Sheep is a dead website that has some good articles.
2019 Year in Review, mixed by Myles Mac HERE.
I think I saw this at one of those Spike and Mike Twisted Animation screenings back in the day, but I was reminded of it by a tweet from Katie Stebbins.
(Also, you can buy a little van that drives around your record and plays it HERE.)

This awesome doc has one of the best teenage parties ever committed to film IMO.
RIP TIM!

Old school jungle mix that took me back in time HERE.
Conspiracy theory: the “fight” between the Justice Department and Apple is a disinformation campaign designed to make people believe their phones are secure. Even local cops can unlock phones.
